Reporting in from Lee Heights Arlington
Power is on in our neighborhood. Mostly there are a lot of small branches littering the roads. On some roads the small branches create a thick carpet. As you approach Marymount University (near 26th St) you can hear generators. Marymount University has a generator on. The water tower had a generator on; but it may be off by now. There were three bucket-trucks predeployed at the mulch pile; they were still parked there - I assume they have to wait for the winds to die down a bit more. Over on 24th St near Wakefield Ct there is a house that has been crushed by a large tree. Looks like the tree was in the backyard; the whole tree fell over onto the roof doing significant damage. Neighbors were out talking with the home owner. Up at the Lee-Heights shopping mall, Starbucks is open and doing a stiff business. Arlington folk on Facebook are reporting that power is being restored. Lots of people are out walking and jogging.
